Southbound lanes of U.S. 41 are expected to be closed for several hours in Bonita Springs following a car accident that sent two adults to the hospital. The accident occurred around noon at the intersection of Strike Lane and U.S. 41. Sheriff's Office spokesman John Sheehan said a northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a southbound vehicle. Both victims were transported by helicopter to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available. Deputies expect southbound lanes to be closed several hours at the site of the accident as the scene is cleaned up. Northbound U.S. 41 is limited to two lanes at the site of the accident, Sheehan said.
