Southbound lanes of U.S. 41 are expected to be closed for several hours in Bonita Springs following a car accident that sent two adults to the hospital. The accident occurred around noon at the intersection of Strike Lane and U.S. 41. Sheriff's Office spokesman John Sheehan said a northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a southbound vehicle. Both victims were transported by helicopter to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
