Students at Florida Gulf Coast University walk past a no spoking sign during a break between classes Thursday at the campus in Estero. A civic engagement class at FGCU, headed up by professor Wayne Robinson, has shaped its service project around campaigning to ban smoking from campus. Robinson said surveys conducted by his class last semester show that students at FGCU are roundly in favor of banning smoking, but also said university administrators are reluctant to institute a ban. Currently, smoking is allowed in a few smoking stations on the FGCU campus. Lexey Swall/Staff
