The Lee County Sheriff's Office is reporting a bank robbery in Bonita Springs.

The Royal Bank of Canada at 9430 Bonita Beach Road, just west of U.S. 41 in front of the Spanish Wells community, was robbed just after 3 p.m., according to an agency spokesman.

A sheriff's helicopter is searching the area, and deputies are posted at nearby intersections.
