  • After paying $10,000 for the 1975 Aqua-sport, it arrived with extensive hull damage after being delivered from Marco Island to North Carolina in April. The classified was listed on Craigslist and photos sent to the buyer before the sale made it look like the boat was in good condition, said the buyer.
  • Before the sale photo of the Aquasport as sent to the North Carolina buyer from the 77-year-old Marco Island seller before the transaction from the Craigslist posting. The boat arrived in much worse condition, the new owner reports.
  • Damage to the Aquasport boat as seen upon arrival by purchaser Albert 'Scott' Rhodes when it arrived in North Carolina after being purchased off Craigslist from Marco Island seller Charles C. Allen, Jr. The boat cost $10,000 and arrived totaled, Rhodes said.

Out-of-state Craigslist deal goes wrong for a Wilmington, N.C. man who said a 77-year-old Marco Island man sent photos of a beautiful boat before the $10,000 sale, but when it arrived, the Aquasport was totaled.
