Collier Sheriff's deputies have confirmed shots were fired shortly before 6 pm. Crime scene tape has cut off part of sugden Park, while multiple squad cars and a crime scene investigation unit arrived sortly after 6:30 pm. A victim was transported out of the park and later medflighted to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sugden Park after an off-duty deputy shot her self in the chest on Friday night. Cpl. Erin Flater, 29, was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital where she died.
