  • Margaret Webb was in her front yard near a canal when an alligator reported to be about eight feet long came up and bit her leg, FWCC Capt. Jayson Horadam said. She was pulled to safety by 30-year-old Dwain Daniels, who was driving by Webb's 25750 State Road 29 ranch house and saw Webb in the water.

  • An alligator, suspected of being the same one that attacked 90-year-old Margaret Webb in Copeland on Wednesday, was captured on Monday by Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officials. The gator was found injured in Copeland with a bullet wound in its head - the same area where Webb's neighbor shot the attacking alligator. Photographed Sept. 5, 2011. Contributed by the FWC.
