Another record Summer crowd packed Rookery Bay for the Kids Free Friday and Month of Sharks. As an added bonus special scientists and archaeologists with high tech equipment were on hand to non invasively excavate a nearby cemetery holding many of the original Marco Island area residents. With the nurse shark as the species of the week, staff & volunteers were appointed with classic nurse hats while in house educators provide an informative slide show then dissection, one of the most popular events. Kids Free Fridays run through August and start at 10 a.m. Contact Rookery Bay for more info.
