Bob Lambert mows the overgrown lawn of a vacant house across the street from his home on Richmond Avenue North in Lehigh Acres, Fla. on March 25, 2011. Lambert, 67, a retiree from Atlanta, moved in with his wife three months ago and has cut the grass across the street every two weeks. Lambert says he knows vagrants stay in the unfinished houses at night because he sees flashlights used inside the home when it's dark. He wishes the community would start participating to help keep the area tidy. 'I'm trying to cut the grass around here cause the county won't do it,' Lambert said. According to data recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau, the 2010 Census found that 32 percent of homes in Collier were vacant and another 30 percent in Lee County. Greg Kahn/Staff
