Johnnie Welch, a volunteer from Naples, loads a shopping cart with food during the annual St. Matthew's House Thanksgiving Meal Distribution in the parking lot of Home Depot in East Naples on Monday morning. St. Matthew's House officials estimated giving out nearly 1,000 turkeys on Monday, and said between the turkeys and groceries given away, and the Thanksgiving meal planned at the shelter from noon until 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, they will feed at least 3,000 people, including 1,000 children. While families had to pre-register for the turkey give-away on Monday, St. Matthew's House officials said everyone is welcome to join them for a free dinner on Thanksgiving Day between noon and 4 p.m. at their facility on Airport-Pulling Road in East Naples.
