Press conference on possible 24/7 health care on Marco

  • Roger LaLonde/Staff (2) Physicians Regional Medical Center put up its banner in the Shops of Marco on Friday as it announced it will have a healthcare clinic on Marco Island, projected to open in December. Physicians Regional also provided a proposal to the City of Marco to provide 24/7 health care services, partially subsidized by the city. A nonbinding referendum on whether Marco residents want a 24/7 clinic will be up for a vote on Aug. 24 as part of the primary election ballot. If they do, Marco could subsidize the approximate 12 hours a day either Physicans Regional or Naples Community Hospital's facility on South Heathwood Drive would be open that are not now scheduled.
