Ronald McDonald welcomes Katherine Patterson, 12 and Elizabeth Patterson, 8, to the newly remodeled Marco Island McDonald's Saturday during the Grand Re-Opening celebration. Glenn Walton/Eagle Correspondent
The McDonald's on Collier Boulevard on Marco Island held a re-opening celebration Saturday after the store underwent a remodeling.
The distinctive Polynesian interior that lent an island flair to the Marco McDonald's is out in favor of a more 'contemporary' decor. New furniture will feature natural finishes. Flat screen TVs, new lighting and free wi-fi will encourage patrons to linger.
The store received new seating, new interior decor and new finishes in the restrooms. The drive-through was also reworked to make it a 'tandem.' There will be two menu boards and two speakers, so the store can accommodate two vehicles at the same time.
