Combine Chamber of Commerce weather, shrimp, spring break and mix. The result is the Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Festival, sponsored by the Fort Myers Beach Lions Club. Throngs of lotion slathered people gathered along the route to view dozens of floats, cars and performers, which ended at the County Park, where awaited craftsmen, musicians, beauty queens and shrimp, along with a multitude of other piscene foodstuffs.
Queen Jamie Costa presided over the festivities. The Festival continues on Sunday with a craft show of over 100 vendors.
