Injured dolphin Seymour captured, treated and released by rescue crew

  • Roger LaLonde Staff Rescuers seemed more at ease after bringing the injured dolphin, they named 'Seymour' to the boat ramp off Collier Boulevard, north of Marco Island on Friday. Rescuers pulled the injured dolphin from the Gulf waters off Marco Island on Friday. It had been injured by fishing line. They used an umbrella to keep the sun off the dolphin. Once x-rays were taken it was determined 'Seymour' could go back into the Gulf.

A platoon of marine mammal rescuers pulled off a remarkable seek-and-find mission Friday in the waters around Marco Island to aid an injured dolphin nicknamed Seymour.
