New coach Stacey Stewart has 10 former Lely football graduates on his staff as he intends to bring new life to the program. St. Jean quarterbacked his 2006 Trojans to a win over Naples and Stewart himself was an all-star quarterback in the mid 1980s that won two district titles.

The Lely Trojans, like most high schools across the state, held its first spring practice on Tuesday. New coach Stacey Stewart has 112 players out for football, with players ending up on varsity, JV or freshman teams.
