Swim instructor Ashlyn Farrar, center, teaches Carolina Hipolito, 5, how to float in the pool while other children wait their turn at Golden Gate Aquatics Facility in East Naples on May 21, 2012. Dozens of children from Grace Place, many who had never been in a pool before, began their 10 days of free swimming lessons Monday. The drowning prevention class was started because, according to Diane Ponton, director of family literacy at Grace Place, drowning is the lead cause of accidental deaths in children age 1-4 in Collier County.
