Catch of the Day: Nov. 8, 2012

Vince DeLuca, 86 years young, landed this 39-inch, 20-pound snook with help from his son Mike. He caught this snook using shrimp under a cork and some local advice from the very helpful woman who works at South Bay Marina. The fish was caught after a 20-minute battle on calm waters at 4:30 p.m. on October 20 off a dock on Oak Ave. in Naples.

  • Captain Mike Avinon and Denny Solomen with a 53-pound black grouper that they caught recently offshore of Naples. They also caught red grouper and mangrove snapper on the trip.
  • Andy Potts and Parker Potts, 9, caught these two nice red fish in the Ten Thousand Islands on November 4 using live shrimp.
  • Ryan, Jose, Bud and Fil landed this 52-pound amberjack during early November. They caught it about 40 miles off Bonita Beach.
  • Joe Parker caught this 50-pound, 50-inch cobia during a sunny day aboard the Kudu 2.
  • Jason Gilbert caught this 34-and-a-half-inch, 28-pound gag grouper during a sunny day on the Kudu 2.
