Hundreds came out for an hour and a half-long special service honoring those who have fought in uniform, past and present. Former U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Wayne Smith was the featured speaker and spoke on his 1,882 days as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. All members of military branches were present representing almost all major wars from the 20th century to present. Killilea served for five invasions in the Pacific theatre as a machine gunner in the 4th Marine Division.
