The inaugural Sunshine Blues Festival kicked off at Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers on Friday, January 18. Headlined by the Grammy award-winning Tedeschi Trucks Band, featuring Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, the all day event featured 10 blues band performances on two stages, including Joe Louis Walker, Walter Trout, Matt Schofield, Sonny Landreth and Big Sam's Funky Nation. Other Florida festival stops included Boca Raton on Saturday and St. Petersburg on Sunday. "We are thrilled to be part of these inaugural festivals in our home state of Florida, and share the stage with some great musicians and friends," said Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks about the event. Ten bands served up the music, a daylong feast of steamin' hot licks in Fort Myers' Centennial Park, for the inaugural date of the first Sunshine Blues Festival. The festival featured the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Walter Trout, Sonny Landreth, Joe Louis Walker, and Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, fronted by a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band.
