January 20, 2013 Fourth Annual 'Parade and Pet Fest': "Wrigley" a brindled Boxer gets a hug from owner Carolyn Thibeault. Photo by Gordon Campbell/Special to the Daily News.
Under perfect skies pet lovers, rescue groups, vendors, sponsors and spectators gathered for the parade. It took just a minute to realize that at least half the dogs and their owners were costumed one way or another.
Sponsor Tony's Off 3rd provided refreshments while attendees got to meet everything from dogs up for adoption to therapy dogs and more. After registering and receiving a starting number, at 12 noon the dogs and their owners paraded in orderly fashion South on 3rd Street past Tommy Bahama's & back around the block for an awards ceremony.
It looked like everyone enjoyed the event and given the number of dogs in close quarters the behavior couldn't have been better.
