  • James Mikulski, of Pennsylvania, caught these two speckled sea trouts off Marco Island. They took them to Snook Inn to have them cooked for them.

  • Local anglers from Marco Island: Bryan Mordecai, Andrea Battaglia, Edmund Shebert and Ben Aronson collectively caught 10 red groupers from 28 inches to 22 inches. They were fishing about 45 miles out from Caxambas Pass in the Gulf.
  • Ten-year-old James Dougherty with a nice snook he caught using shrimp as live bait while fishing on the beach. Dougherty, of Pittsburgh, Pa., is on vacation in Marco Island.
  • James Dougherty with a 35-pound blacktip shark he caught off Marco Island. This was one of five sharks he caught that day. He was using Ladyfish for bait.
  • Ted Hanson with a nice snook he caught in Bonita Springs after not fishing for six months. He caught it on a thread fin.

  • Laura Fraser caught this jack on the Imperial River in Bonita Springs using a jig on a calm afternoon.
  • Chase Baker, of Naples, caught a tilapia on a bread ball while fishing in a lake.
  • Rob Brewer, of Wisconsin, caught this 30-inch, 8 1/2-pound speckled trout while fishing the Estero Bay grass flats with Captain Matt DeAngelis, of Get Hooked Charter Fishing.

  • Joslyn Baker, of Naples, caught a 2 1/2-pound bass on a piece of cheese on a rainy evening.
  • Ronnie Moore scooped this nice red grouper up 15 miles offshore of Naples
  • PJ, who is visiting from Ohio, caught this keeper red grouper fishing aboard the Cuda out of the Naples city dock.
  • Laura Fraser made this catch in a canal in Bonita Springs at low tide using a hot dog.

  • NDN sportswriter Dana Caldwell caught and released this 4'6' blacktip while fishing with Shark Chaser Charters  out of Goodland on Saturday, May 18.
  • Naples Daily News sportswriter Scott Butherus caught and released this 10-pound gag grouper while fishing with cut bait in about 15 foot of water out of Goodland on Saturday, May 18.
