Catch of the Day: October 10, 2013

Stanley Leonard, of Naples, fished with Captain Steve Westervelt and landed a 36-inch snook and a 30-inch redfish. Both fish were caught using live scaled sardines  just north of Marco Island. Practicing catch and release, all fish caught were freed  to fight another day.

  • Beth Brewer, of Naples, caught this trout while fishing in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
  • Lisa Hendrickson caught this redfish in the Everglades.
  • Joe Grohal, of San Carlos Park, caught these two jacks along with a speckled sea trout and a Spanish mackerel. He was on vacation in Fort Myers Beach. All of the fish were caught in the early morning on calm water using shiners.
