Catch Of The Day

The Naples Daily News and naplesnews.com are showcasing fishing photos from throughout the region. Anyone can submit a photo for inclusion. Ideally, submissions will include a photo of the fish and angler, location, type of bait or lure, fishing and weather conditions or a general description. Example: Marco Island, Jane Doe of Marco Island caught this 200-pound tarpon while fishing near Doctors Pass with live mullet on a calm morning. Photos will be selected from the gallery each week and used in our publications, such as the Naples Daily News, The Banner, Marco Eagle and Collier Citizen among others. There is no cost associated with submitting content. It's just another chance to brag about your catch. Please e-mail your photo to news@naplesnews.com to be considered for this feature.

  • Captain Mark Yimin and his cousin Mike Schnupp with a double header on redfish caught on pilchards in Matlacha Pass.
  • Nine-year-old Jimmy McCool, of Boston, Mass., caught and released this 24-inch gag grouper while fishing using live bait with Captain Bruce Jackmack.
  • Andrea, a Naples resident, caught this nice keeper red grouper while fishing aboard the Cuda out of the Naples city dock.
  • Amy Moore picked up this 23-inch red grouper 15 miles offshore of Naples.
  • Captain Stacy Mullendore presents Adrienne Beaury, of New York City, with a trophy for catching a 160-pound tarpon in the Thousand Islands area on May 11th. This was the first annual Beaury Family Fishing Tournament.

  • Bill Weber caught this triple tail two miles off shore of Naples in the Gulf.
  • Kerry Weber caught this grouper in the Gulf about 25 miles off Naples.
  • Eddie Miller and Eric Borges caught this 200-pound, six-foot-three-inch tarpon in the mouth of the Marco River. The fishermen took on the fish in a two-hour fight using a small lady fish.
  • Jon Harris with a nice snook near Tin City.
