  • Dan and Donna Strishock brought their daughter Carrie and her good friend, Allie to visit Marco family: Ken and Diane Honecker. They couldn't return to Virginia before experiencing a sunset dinner at the Snook Inn!!!

  • The Florida Society of Enrolled Agents has sponsored a 501(c)3 charity - Teddy Bears for Kids, Inc. More than 3,000 teddy bears were brought in at the annual convention/seminar in June. Yudy Barbera of ACCOUNTING PLUS MORE chose Hospice of Naples as the recipient and delivered the bears to Stephanie Foster, Director of Development.

  • This is our foursome getting ready to tee off at Spring Run Golf Club in Estero. It includes Bob Robinson, Jackie Robinson, Bob Moore and Bill Bates. We all belong to Moose Lodge 1454 in Bonita Springs and play golf in the off season two to three times a week. Spring Run is our favorite place to play in the summer.
  • The Naples 14U Sun Devils Fast pitch Travel Team poses with their newest championship trophies from the ISA 'September To Remember' Tournament played September 15-16 at the Fort Myers Sports Complex. It was a long, hot weekend, but the ladies played hard and had fun and triumphed over some of the area's toughest competitors!

  • Joe and Lucy Kisnosky of Naples will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on November 14th. They have been residents of Naples since 1999 when they relocated from Rosebush, Michigan. They were married at Mineral Wells, Texas where Joe was stationed for basic training in the Army. Joe saw combat in France with the Army Infantry where they paraded through Paris. He retired from WCEN Radio in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan after being on the air for 30 years. Lucy worked in retail sales most of her life after a stint in factory work during WWII. Joe and Lucy have two daughters: Kathy (Joe) Graves of Rockford, IL and Elizabeth (Dale) Dillingham of Naples; 4 grandchildren and one great grandson.

  • The 4-year-old class at Stars and Stripes Learning Center on Marco Island made a banner to send to Iraq. Stars and Stripes owner Judy Elliott writes 'They were so proud of their masterpiece. We mailed the banner to our adopted troops to lift their spirits. Captain J. Purvis, right, said 'They made us feel so special.' It is hanging in their platoon for all to see.

  • On November 3, the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and the Southwest Florida Quilters' Guild had a 'Clothesline Quilt Show.” More than 40 quilts were hung between the royal palm trees lining the palm alley in front of Henry Ford's winter home.

  • “Something wicked this way comes.” The Lely Shakespeare Academy, is staging “Macbeth” in the Lely High School Auditorium November November 15, 16, 17, 18 at 7:00 PM. On-stage seating plunges the audience right into the “hurly burly.” Here, the three wyrd sisters of fate (Stephanie Spears, Sarah Piper, and Michele Garner) brew up a hell-broth of trouble in the cauldron scene.   • Naples Professional Natural Bodybuilder Karen Taylor won 1st Place in the Women's Pro Division of the National Gym Association (NGA) Pro Universe Bodybuilding Competition on November 10, 2007 in Coral Springs. Karen Taylor also placed 2nd in the Women's Pro Division of the IFPA Yorton Cup Bodybuilding Championships held in Bowie, Maryland on October 27, 2007.
  • Kelly Lichter completes the quarter-mile open water swim portion of the Boca Bop Triathlon. She came in 2nd place in her age group with a time of 1:20:46 (7 minutes faster than her husband, Nick.) The three-event race (1/4 Mile Swim - 13 Mile Bike - 3.1 Mile Run) took place on November 5th on Gasparilla Island. After training for thirteen weeks with her husband, Kelly competed in the triathlon in honor of her late father, Don Mason, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 62 on October 31, 2007.

  • Naples Rotary Club Jim Connell and Naples Orchid Society past president Tom Coffey presented a check for $10,275 to Laces of Love representative Jeanne Nealon. The local charity donates new shoes to underprivileged children in Collier and Lee Counties. Naples Rotary and Orchid Society members work together to put on the annual orchid show. Net proceeds from the 2007 show were matched with a District Simplified Grant from Rotary's 6960 District. Laces of Love will also receive proceeds from the 2008 Orchid Show. The show will be held March 14-16 at the Naples United Church of Christ.

And Tony Raineone is always ready to help when children benefit', said Michelle Jordan, who, along with her husband Howard, founded the Upon A Star Foundation.

Paintings by Jerry Vallez, who has painted portraits of Everglades City's historic buildings and its local birds, will be on exhibit at the Museum in Everglades City for the month of December. Visiting hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone number is 695-0008.
