Café De Marco is the home for Old Florida elegance on Marco Island. Once the quaint quarters for the chambermaids of the Olde Marco Inn, Café De Marco is now a dining forum with tremendous patron loyalty. Since 1983, Sandy Francino has been at the helm to guide her staff through the uncertain changes that affect all seasonal restaurants. Chef Jean Randre is the driving force behind the classic seafood, steak and lamb ensembles that always have the signature of quality that is unique to Café De Marco. An enclosed patio is nicely appointed and offers a casual ambiance that brings the indoors outside. After a few more steps, an inviting alcove with candle-lit romance beckons off the main entrance. The main dining room offers the classic Old Florida theme, enhanced by an elegance of subtle lighting, fine linen and a tangible hint of history that bridges into the present. The seafood is always excellent, but one dessert that cannot be missed: The Café Puff is almond-praline ice cream rolled in chocolate-cookie crumbs, inside a pastry-puff shell, topped with whipped cream, Bailey's chocolate sauce and graham-cracker crumbs. Café De Marco offers an extensive wine list to complement any meal and an excellent selection of after-dinner port, sherry and fine dessert wines. Café De Marco serves dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. seven nights a week between Christmas and Easter. It is closed Sundays between Easter and Christmas. Twilight specials are offered between 5 and 5:45 p.m. for $12.95.
