At Fat Pelican Sushi, Southwest Floridians have an outstanding opportunity to experience world-class sushi. Kazuo Seto is from Tokyo and has more than 17 years' experience as a master sushi chef. Starters include a chef's sampler with spicy tuna and scallions and Edamame (steamed soybeans) for $6. These soybeans are salted and steamed in the shell and are a traditional Japanese snack that goes great with beer. Main courses include tuna tataki for $11 and the sushi platter for $22. The tuna tataki comes creatively presented in the pattern of a budding rose. The rare grilled tuna is beautifully positioned over cucumber salad and served with shaved ginger and Ponzu sauce. The sushi platter arrives with seven pieces of Nigiri (fish over rice) and a California roll. Fat Pelican Sushi offers a full bar, a fine selection of Japanese and domestic beers and a premium selection of hot and chilled sake.
