In addition to having a funny name, Fernandez the Bull Cafe has several going for it. First, It seems to occupy that magical middle ground somewhere between casual and upscale. So whether you're out on a date, a low-key dinner with a friend, or a group outing with coworkers, you probably won't go too wrong and you won't throw down too much cash.
Another thing the restaurant has going for it is authentic Cuban home cooking that you can really dig into. A meal of a half chicken, yuca, black beans and some Cuban bread toasted with olive oil thrown for good measure should leave you fully satisfied, if not incapacitated. Portions here are not skimpy.
And finally, don't be turned off by the restaurant's plain exterior. Inside is a stylish, comfortable space where you may want to spend a while talking after your meal over a coffee or a glass of wine.
