Description
Neumann's deli/restaurant offers standard breakfast fare, stuff like eggs over easy with toast and home fries, but several a.m. options are refreshingly original. For example the sweet potato pancakes with peach butter and orange blossom honey, and eggs benedict nordic style - instead of Canadian bacon, this version featured imported smoked salmon and sauteed spinach.
In addition to the above, the bill of fare lists a variety of omelets, oatmeal brulee (sounds interesting), corned beef hash with eggs and all the usual suspects.
At lunch, served 11 a.m. to 2:30, look for homemade soup, a trio of salads and sandwiches and platters such as a Black Angus burger or portobello mushroom burger, German veal bratwurst, and Bavarian country meatloaf.
Refrigerated cases are crammed with 50 varieties of hard-to-find deli meats (including sausages) and cheeses, numerous kinds of kielbasa, bratwursts and other wursts (five kinds of liverwurst, for example), ring bologna, kishka, veal loaf, blood sausage, hard salami — even dense, distinctively smoky flavored Westphalian ham.
