About Page Field

Page Field began its history as a sod runway in 1927. The first regular stops were from National Airways in 1937. Concrete runways were laid in 1940 before the facility became an Army Air Force fighter training base during World War II.

Page Field's wooden barracks were replaced with a small terminal in the 1950s and expanded in the 1960s and 1970s. The opening of Southwest Florida International Airport in 1981 saw Page Field fall into disrepair before the Port Authority began an economic revitalization plan.

Today, Page Field serves as a general aviation airport. It is popular with recreational and business pilots. There are plans to build a new general aviation terminal as well as a federal Customs building on site.

The airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an Air Traffic Control Tower operating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
