With definitely something for everyone, including outdoor seating and an arcade room, Vandy's is open seven days a week and shows all major sporting events on 32 different TVs. They boast two 100-inch televisions for the best quality viewing and the indoor chickee bar offers a tropical feel in a cool atmosphere away from the heat and humidity. Vandy's has two full bars so the drinks came fast as we looked over the appetizers. The Baked Brie was a starter that should not be missed. For $7.75 a generous portion of the famous French cheese was baked to a golden brown and topped with a marsala wine sauce and fresh mushrooms, garnished with Italian toasted bread and finished with tempura-style, quick-fried scallions. Another can't miss is the deep-fried Macaroni and Cheese for $5.99. These tasty triangle bits will score big for the little leaguers in any family. Entrees run the gamut from pasta to pizza to salad and seafood selections. For the health-conscious, Vandy's "Wrap" selections include a Beach Wrap with turkey, lettuce, tomato, cranberries and feta cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla and finished on a grill press for $9.99; a Cuban Wrap with pork, Swiss cheese, sliced pickle and mustard for $8.99; a Baja Wrap with fried grouper fingers, corn, tomato, rice and special sauce for $9.99; a Cajun Shrimp Wrap with blackened shrimp, lettuce, tomato and Vandy's "Kicken" sauce in a warm flour tortilla for $9.99. For dessert, save room for a wonderful combination of ultra-chocolate cake paired with scoops vanilla ice cream and garnished with whipped cream.
