Some questions already submitted will be asked and, if they haven’t changed the rules, the floor will be open for questions from the audience as well.

The group that serves blind and other visually impaired people here is very pleased that it has been accredited by the national body that monitors the work of such organizations.
The designation by the National Accreditation Council demonstrates to the public that Lighthouse of Collier is providing quality programs/services for the blind. It also means that Lighthouse now can apply for state financial support through the Florida Division of Blind Services.
The mission of Lighthouse of Collier is to promote the development, implementation and on-going evaluation of programs and services which foster independence and enhance the quality of life for the blind, visually impaired and their caregivers.

Zany also poked fun at Capt. Brien’s restaurant, home of Zany’s venue, the Off the Hook Comedy Club.
Zany is returning there this Thursday for four nights of laughs and he’s still making fun of the combination of seafood atmosphere and comedy club sound and lights.

After 20 minutes or so at the meeting, Big Flag Chairman Dave Rice and key organizer Keith Dameron emerged victorious, their unorthodox presentation having wowed the council.

</title><link>http://www.marconews.com/news/2011/dec/05/marcophiles-our-oldest-church-comes-alive-christma/?partner=RSS</link><description>One of our family’s enduring memories of Marco Island in days gone by was the weather-worn, time-tested church building on Bald Eagle Drive.
On the front the sign read, at first glance, “Church – God. The word “of” was obscured and we thought the visible name, “Church – God” pretty much said it all.
We didn’t know then that the church, built in 1939, was the first church established on Marco. Now it stands on the cemetery grounds, a renovated, beautiful, historic house of worship.

</title><link>http://www.marconews.com/news/2011/dec/01/shop-talk-so-well-never-forget-fallen-heroes-vietn/?partner=RSS</link><description>The ever efficient, civic-minded Carole Roberts sends along important information for people visiting The Wall That Heals during its coming Marco visit.
You already may know some of this, but it bears repeating, for obvious reasons. And there’s news to add to the schedule of the reading of the names of Floridians on the Vietnam Wall (see times below).
Carole tells us that, while there are no names of Marco residents on the Vietnam Wall, if any local residents have loved ones from elsewhere honored on the wall, they can arrange to have those names read.
