Biography
Andrew Sodergren is a copy editor on the sports desk of the Naples Daily News.
A 1997 graduate of Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, Sodergren served as a sports writer for the Bloomsburg (Pa.) Press-Enterprise from December 1997 through August 2002. While on vacation in Florida in April 2002, Sodergren came to the realization that he no longer wanted to cover events in frigid temperatures, so he decided Florida was where he wanted to be. He moved that August, where he eventually landed a job as a sports writer for the Cape Coral Daily Breeze.
Sodergren was promoted to associate editor in 2004, before coming to the Daily News as a news and sports copy editor in March 2005. He enjoys helping out on the writing end of things whenever he can, especially during spring training when he gets to cover his passion — baseball.
Sodergren was married to the lovely Christina Marie Chaffee in November 2008, and the couple resides in Lehigh Acres with their 3-year-old yellow lab, Patty. He enjoys sports of all kinds and is a fan of all New York pro teams — Mets, Knicks, Giants and Rangers. He also roots for Penn State on the collegiate level. He has a passion for music, with the Beatles being his all-time favorite artists.
