Biography
Beat: Estero/San Carlos Park/Florida Gulf Coast University
Bio:I graduated with a bachelor's of science degree from the West Virginia University Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism in May 2004. I am originally from Richwood, West Virginia, a town of about 2,000 residents and one traffic signal in the southern central part of the state. I became hooked on journalism during my junior year at Richwood High School, when my favorite teacher launched a school newspaper called The Woodchopper, named in honor of our school mascot, the Lumberjack. I interned at two daily West Virginia newspapers, The Dominion Post in Morgantown and the Charleston Gazette in Charleston, before coming to the Daily News in November 2004. When I'm not scouring the communities of Estero and San Carlos Park, as well as the Florida Gulf Coast University campus, looking for news stories, I enjoy reading, shoe shopping and watching Mountaineer football. How about that 2005 Sugar Bowl?
