I grew up in a small town in Indiana and still have my Midwest mannerisms — smiling or talking to people I don’t know.
I graduated from Ball State University and then moved to Raleigh, N.C., to work at the News & Observer. North Carolina was beautiful, but I moved to Naples in 2004 to warm my feet.
Before I moved, though, I went to Italy to study art and met my husband, Marcello. Cliché, I know, but he’s the best souvenir ever.
I design the covers of Neapolitan, Travel and open Showcase pages. I coordinate between photographers, editors, reporters and copy editors to put all the pieces together on the page. I love features design, because it gives me opportunities to play with color, create illustrations and use my imagination.
