Biography
Kaydee Tuff was a polite 19-year-old college student when she married into the newspaper business nearly 30 years ago. After a short stint as a politically correct kindergarten teacher in North Dakota, she joined Tuff Publications, Inc., where she evolved into an edgy, thick-skinned newspaper columnist, reporter and editor for a number of news publications in Minnesota and Florida.
She currently serves as Editor of the Collier Citizen, a weekly community newspaper serving Collier County.
AWARDS:
■ 1984: Best Local News Story from the Minnesota Newspaper Association.
■ 2009: Under her editorship, the Collier Citizen received first place in General Excellence in the Florida Press Association Better Weekly Newspaper Contest.
FEATURES:
■ Scratch Paper is a column devoted to the rantings of a working wife and mother trying to keep pace with a world that waits for no one.
■ R U Better is a unique video series which pits local community leaders in fun competitions with local youth. Among those are Naples Mayor Bill Barnett's tricycle race with Fun Time preschoolers, Collier Sheriff Kevin Rambosk's tug-o-war with third graders and Collier County Commissioner Tom Henning milking a goat with local 4-Hers.
