Biography
A native of Canfield, Ohio, Elizabeth "Liz" Brown is one of many who have navigated from the Midwest to Southwest Florida.
Searching for a more practical approach to traditional art, she began her publication career as a Bobcat, studying at the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University in Athens. After obtaining a bachelors degree in informational graphics/publication design, a minor in Art and a specialization in Journalism in 2007, Liz traveled to Kalamazoo, Mich., to spend time as a designer at the local newspaper.
Tired of living in a town that was often confused as a musical instrument and facing the impending end of her internship, she headed to a location a little easier to explain (“Naples, Florida, not Naples, Italy”), and ended up on the presentation desk at the Naples Daily News. She is responsible for 1A (and many of its misspellings), graphics and various other pages and projects that crop up.
Liz still toys with the idea of freelance painting and illustration in her spare time, but for now, the skill is maintained through personal projects.
