Classic cars filled the street, and the aroma of barbecue filled the air for the Downtown Fort Myers Block Party held at the Hideaway Sports Bar. The event benefited the Scottish Rite Foundation and the Grotto Humanitarian Foundation.

1,000 flags collected for disposal

The flags are collected every year for a ceremonial disposal once they are deemed unsuitable for display. The collected flags were burned properly in a flag disposal ceremony on Flag Day, Tuesday, June 14.
