5 reasons Florida is a great state to live in
It's always sunny in Florida. Wochit
Ah, Florida. It's a place where you can lounge on a beach with a cocktail in hand and sandals on your feet year-round. A place where you can hit the driving range with your friends no matter the season and where you can hang with your favorite Disney characters any day of the week.
Here are five reasons why Florida is a great place to live:
1. There's no state income tax for residents.
2. The weather is enjoyable most days.
Northerners have to deal with snow covering their houses and cars every winter, sometimes as early as October. In Florida, snow is as rare as a neighborhood without a Publix. During the winter here, residents can enjoy breezy, 70-something-degree weather without the hassle of having to clear a driveway or bundle up.
3. Florida has 663 miles of beaches.
If you live in Florida, chances are you have been to the beach. It's pretty hard to avoid, since there are 663 miles of surf, sun and sand to explore, according to stateofflorida.com. In Southwest Florida, some of the most popular beaches are Vanderbilt Beach, Bonita Beach and Fort Myers Beach.
4. There are year-round activities to enjoy.
Golf, pickleball and tennis are just a few of the sports that people can enjoy year-round in Florida. There are other activities, too, such as biking, hiking, kayaking and snorkeling that can be completed no matter what the season.
5. There are several amusement parks.
If you're a thrill seeker, Florida's amusement parks have something for you. There are five big theme parks in the state: Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens, Legoland, Universal Studios and Sea World, and each one has something unique to offer. At Disney, you can frolic near Cinderella's castle with the princess herself, and at Universal, you can fly with Harry Potter over the grounds of Hogwarts.
