Key West Express returned to business on Thursday, resuming its 3.5-hour, high-speed ferry service out of Fort Myers Beach.

Interrupted for several weeks by Hurricane Irma, Key West Express said it's off-season five-day-a-week schedule was the first to resume with the all-week schedule from Fort Myers Beach and Marco Island expected to resume on Dec. 26.

The Fort Myers Beach terminal will operate Thursday through Monday except for the last week of October when service expands to seven days for the Fantasy Fest Week.

Key West Express operates the 170-foot Key West Express Catamaran, the flagship vessel based out of Fort Myers Beach, and the 155-foot Big Cat Express, a jet-powered catamaran running out of both Marco Islands and Fort Myers Beach.
