Collier County deputies are investigating a report about a man accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer in Golden Gate Estates.

The man stopped a Collier County resident while she was walking in the area of Immokalee Road and Rabbit Run Drive about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Collier Sheriff's Office.

He indicated he wanted to search her and threatened to arrest her if she did not cooperate. After frisking her, he got into a vehicle and drove toward Immokalee, according to the news release.

The man was driving a black newer-model Dodge Charger with no markings.

He was described as bald and in his mid-50s with blue eyes, about 6 feet tall with a large build. He was wearing green pants with multiple pockets, a black shirt and black boots.
