A motorcyclist died Saturday morning after a collision with a pickup on County Road 92, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck occurred about 8:30 a.m. nearly 2 miles south of U.S. 41 on the eastern edge of Collier-Seminole State Park, FHP reported.

The crash victim was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle south behind a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Philip N. Wysong, 30, of Tennessee, the Highway Patrol reported. Wysong pulled over onto the east shoulder to make a U-turn, then abruptly re-entered the roadway, striking the motorcycle driver, FHP said.

The name of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was withheld until a relative could be notified.

FHP stated Wysong was issued a citation alleging an improper U-turn.
