1. Planning Board meets today
The Marco Island Planning Board meets at 9 a.m. today in the community room, 51 Bald Eagle Drive. The board will discuss previous and impervious surfaces and changes to Site Development Plan (SDP) and Site Improvement Plan (SIP) procedures.
There will also be a second reading of an ordinance changing the Land Development Code (LDC) in regard to site plan deviations; side yard encroachments; setback for screen enclosure/pool area on waterfront lots; garage doors; chain link fencing; and utility sheds.
2. Old Marco Lodge up for sale
The Old Marco Lodge & Crab House, the oldest building in Goodland, is for sale. The historic restaurant, which has been closed since Hurricane Irma made landfall on Sept. 10, was originally constructed on Marco Island in the 1800’s.
The owners moved the restaurant to Goodland in 1965. The 9,327 square-foot, commercially-zoned, waterfront property is listed for $3.2 million, and is located at 401 Papaya Street. For more information, call Frank Kupiec of LandQwest Commercial at 239-275-4922.
3. City Council meets Monday
The Marco Island City Council will host its first meeting of the year at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the community room, 51 Bald Eagle Drive.
Council will vote to rezone Veterans Community Park as a park rather than a Planned Unit Development (PUD), repeal the transfer of density rights and extend the temporary parking moratorium for alleys and swales adjacent to commercial districts. Council will also discuss changing its rules of procedure and improving city elections.
