Mr. Farmer 85% of this Island is not sewered less then 50% is. 85% of the living units are sewered which consist mostly of the high rises along Collier Blvd.Bill Moss left because he knew his job would be in jeopardy if the majority of Marco votes voted for change.
$30,000 per intersection for installing a remote relay sensor? Who was the low bidder?
Sailor looks like you wont even have vote on the 29th with numbers like that. But then again on the 29th you can only vote once unlike the NDN poll.
Issler, You don't read very well, Lolala never said she voted I did.Guidry is my doctor and I voted for him. Keep your smear campaign going Isser you are still going to loose this one.
Sorry Issler, I already voted for butch and the other 3 candidate's who will stop the insanity on this Island.
I looked at that poll the other day after 100 votes or so and it was the other way around. How can you believe that poll is correct It is so obvious someone is minipulating the results. You will not be able to do that in the election so enjoy the results of the NDN poll because the election results will be very different.
Patton why is Tucker no being charged with the same thing? he deleted e-mail from citizens from his personal computer.
27 if there was a recall and you got the required signatures to put it to a vote how would you feel if the City spent our tax dollars to fight it in court instead of letting the voters decide?
Oldman you are wrong, we do not have trouble at the ballot box......just talk to the people holding the yellow signs at the library and they will tell you who is winning. You don't have a chance unless you can stuff the ballot box like the poll on the NDN site.My advice to you if you want to win is vote more then once and you may have a shot.
I agree with DC.
Goodland is on Marco Island and has septic how can you people keep saying the City of Marco is the only waterfront community on septic?
Wayne, you are wrong Marco Island will not be only waterfront community on septic both Goodland which is on Marco Island and Isle of Capri just across the river are on septic.
I think the quote from above was "three months as a full-time resident." Which is the truth.
Correction, He is considered a resident once he does ether of the above. As long as he did one of those over a year ago he can run for elected office.
Peterpan as long as Butch filed a declaration of domicile or registered to vote over a year ago he is considered a Florida resident.
Nylon has been a resident for more then a year, you only have to live here 6 months out of the year to qualify as a resident which I believe he did before moving here full time 3 months ago. I know many people who only live here 6 months out of the year, they vote here and have the sos tax exemption and I believe they could run for office if they wanted to. Please correct me if I am wrong.
"It is amazing just how much you folks don't know."
Patton, guess what in the state of Florida any resident can run for elected office. It does not matter if they only live here 6 month out of the year or if they have only lived here full time for 3 months. If lolala is an elitist so are you.
MarcoFacts you and some of the other Pro City posters here have no class. Why is it you have to resort to name calling if you do not agree with someone?
Kathy and Bill, The people over Isle of Capri and Goodland will be surprised to learn that they are getting sewers, I don't think they know that yet. Last time I looked both were waterfront community's not planning to be sewered.
Patton, Half this Island is from New England and I believe Hall is from Massachusetts originally. Do you think all the people who live here 6 month a year so they don't have to pay State income tax back home should only vote for a full time resident? If all the people from New England and part timers vote for Hall and Neylon your guys are in trouble, which I think they are anyway. Just be glad that the people running own their own homes, I Can just imagine what you would say about someone running for office that only rented, and yes renters are allowed to run for office in this State last time I checked.
Jack, no County or State authority is going to order Marco Island to install sewers. If you know of a County or State agency that plans to do that let me know which one it is.
The pro STRP people have had over 3 years to show that septic systems were polluting our canals and to date there is no evidence that is happening. If anyone thinks the majority of Marco Islanders are going to vote to continue digging up this Island and spending unknown millions for a project that is not needed must be delusional.
MarcoFacts, Please give me the phone number of the person at the State of Florida who will soon step in and make us sewer the Island. If that is a fact I am sure our fine City leaders would have provided that information to us.
I agree it is an eyesore but Marco's laws would not apply there so boater would be free to park boats on that side of the river for as long as they like.
Chris3, I think that boat is in Isle of Capri waters, not Marco's
Marcofacts, your pro-sewer candidates are going to loose big time.
Monte, The only way your side will win this election is if you all go to the polls and are allowed to vote over and over again.
Chonchsoup said "the council went to great lengths to provide alternative payment methods including one that avoids payment at all until the property is sold." unfortunitly many people will not be able to sell their house once they have a $20,000 City lien on it, if you bought you house in the last 4 years you most likely do not have any equity in it and will need to bring money to the closing if you find a buyer. Some people may no be able to sell their home if they need to come up with the 20 grand.
peterpan, The point I was trying to make is the the boating ordinance is not needed and not supported by majority islanders. I feel the same way about the STRP.
Peterpan, How about the City perusing the boating ordinance even though Judge Rob Crown dismissed the case and since the city never signed an interlocal agreement with the State Attorney’s office to reimburse it for legal fees we all have to pay for this unneeded lawsuit.
I have been to that web site, first of all there is no contact info on it or a place to e-mail the owner of the site. I do not know of any legitimate web sites that do not have contact info on them. Also the owners info in the whois is blocked but I was able to find out the owner is John Arceri of Celebrate Marco. Seems fishy that John Arceri and Celebrate Marco would start a web site and keep their identity secret.
JWP, The web site you are talking about was started by John Arceri of Celebrate Marco but don't tell anyone he is trying to keep that a secret.
Douglas Carter tried to buy a couple houses I had for way more then they were worth, I can't believe he is not back in jail yet.
Collier County Property Appraiser used all those inflated sales to appraise the value of my home here on Marco and now I am paying more taxes then I should because they used these fraudulent sales as comps to Calculate the value of my house.
Monte,I don't know what your smoking but if you think the majority of voters on this Island are going to vote to continue digging this place up for another 5 years it must be pretty good stuff. You need to win 3 of the 4 seats up for grabs and I don't see that happening.Merry Christmas to you.
MarcoFacts your quote
"I will not pay to cancel sewers! Why should I pay for something I don't have? Canceling the STRP now will cost everyone. Count me in on the class action lawsuit against any councilor that votes to cancel the program."
Now you know how I feel about the STRP, why should I pay for something I do not want or need?If the people elected in the next election cancel the STRP it is because the majority of voters want it canceled and the people who are responsible for any cost you may incur are the counselors who went ahead with this ill conceived project without the support of the people of Marco.
Gator,
If Marco were going to sue people who waste taxpayers money I think the City Counsel would be at the top of the list.
Leroy,
How is Godfrey Davis responsible for this if the City does not have the right permits? The City is at fault.
The City council could care less if the fine is $10,000 a day if they don't stop pumping ground water into the canals, it's not their money.
Issler,
Tell me how much did the Marriott pay for Collier Blvd.? I'll bet is was not even close to 33% of the cost. Maybe we should see if they want to help with the bridges.
Melt it down and use it for bridge repairs.
Strike3,
That bridge is not even needed, you could fill it all in and only cause a few boaters a 5 min. detour.I don't know if the state would let you do it but it would be a better option then a ferry.
Councilor Glenn Tucker said “The state rammed this thing down our throats.” Sound like the STRP Glen, now you know how many Marco Islanders feel.
If you spend $25,000,000 to beautify Collier Blvd. but don't fix the bridges - you might be viewed as being anti-city!
If you force a few people to pay over $20,000 for a sewer system that is not needed or wanted - you might be viewed as being anti-city!
If you refuse to let people vote on a $120,000,000 project - you might be viewed as being anti-city!
I could keep going but I think you get the point.

Farmer,
When are you going to realize that not everyone has to agrees with you? get over it and stop badmouthing the citizens of Marco who do not share your views.
Mr. Farmer,
You are very rude.
I'm still waiting to hear if we got a refund for the fireworks fiasco.
PS I am not embarrassed by what I say, I think you just don't like what you hear.
