Fossil, as usual you miss the point completely. This firing was done without any public notice. Maybe Thompson needed to go but where was the public input? This was obviously a behind the scenes deal put together by the syndicate as you call it only now you're applauding the type of behavior you've complained about in the past. make up your mind, are you for open government or not? If it had been transparent government, like Recker always talks about, it would have been properly advertised. Instead, they snuck it in through the back door. Recker wanted to fire Thompson two years ago after just 90 days of employment and was unsuccessful, now he got his way.

I agree ed34145, Magel and Batte didn't even have a chance to manage Thompson. How are they qualified to judge him at this point! “Double talking politicians.” They both ran their campaigns claiming they were fiscal conservatives yet they fire the City Manager at a cost of a couple hundred thousand dollars. This would have never happened if Forcht and Popoff were still councilors, they were voices of reason and kept Recker from being reckless!

I rarely blog but your comments are so foolish i felt the need to respond. Having served as a public official in another state I am familiar with individuals like you McBreeze. Are you serious? Whether you agree with City Councilors or not they put themselves out there for little or no remuneration and have to put up with fools like you! You are a complete unadulterated fool. I can’t believe I am wasting my time writing this blog directed at you because you are certain to respond. Beowolf, perhaps you should do a little digging before you call our councilors inept. Your comments are inept as they have no merit. Haven't you figured this out yet?? Council and the city manager were protecting the interim city manager. Why should they bring out any improprieties and hurt his future. Everyone at city hall knows what happened when he was interim city manager. Why don't you take a trip to city hall and start asking questions. That is if you have the common decency to admit your stupid little conspiracy theory is complete nonsense.
