Could not agree more with DamYankee, the 2nd Amendment was enacted to keep the 1st Amendment safe. As for buying an AR 15 for 5-6 hundred bucks, good luck with that. I detect a note of bitterness for Colt and it's venerable AR platform. To be blatantly honest AR15's are antiques in my opinion. It is a flawed design pushed upon the US military for years, it has taken 50 years of updates and revisions to be a decent battle rifle. Why your focus is on just the AR15 is interesting. Why not mention the AK47, the rifle that has killed the most US troops since Korea. Or how about 12 gauge shotgun?, or HK MP5's and all it's German brothers? Surprising few mention Colt's 1911 or Glocks or Sig Sauer's or Beretta's or Ruger handguns. They are all easily concealed and can be shot just as fast as you can load the mags in. Do your research, an AR15 and a Ruger Mini 14 both can use a 30 round plus magazine, both are in the same caliber, both can be found with collapsible or folding stocks, and the Mini 14 is a great rifle yet your anger and aggression is directed at the AR15 for some odd reason. Any weapon can kill if that is the intent. A hammer, a club, a baseball bat, but yet I don't see you screaming to ban those instruments of destruction. Or how about knives or machetes? DO your homework, the weapon of choice in most violent crimes is a baseball bat. Why not ban those?
