You or one of your comrads must be someone Derrig put in the slammer. The city should stop waisting money on arbitrators, attorneys and court cost. Give Ed,mike and clif jobs back and call it a day.

The Miami Police officer was driving a cop car #1. He was handcuffed in uniform (#2 no respect). This trooper could not accurately pace him when he drove by her or switched lanes. Radar does not work that way (especially when there's other cars). I feel bad for the good trooper not related to this that calls for back up and the city of miami city cop stops at 711 before he responds. Watch the video at NBC-2.com. The law states for an officer to accurately judge your speed they have to pace you or use a device such as radar to concur with their visual estimate. Naples news guy, you should read the reckless or speed statue before you run off at the mouth.

I find this funny, this cop who is a girl(not being sexiest at all,But I know who she is). Just charged someone with wwrd without meeting the requirements of the law. Did the officer or person willfully or want-fully want to disregard the people around him. The answer is no! This trooper will be back on the job and the deputy that charged him with this misdemeanor will be looked at as an inexperienced trooper who does not know the law. To the trooper who was arrested hang in there and remember, times have changed especially here in south west Florida. These people have no respect anymore. Just do your job like the rest of them and do the bare min. Because they don't care either way. Good luck!

I just read the city wants over 100k for more police vehicles. #1 stop!!!!!!! crashing them. And I read every one wants to cut the PD in half. This would not be the right thing to do. If they reorganize the police department this would be great. The Capt has not done one bit of real police work since 2000. Look it up on the county web site. He’s really getting his 100k worth. As for the Admin Lt., he’s not far behind. They have a police officer who is in charge of computers. And from what I heard from the Officers, the computers never work. This computer guy has never left his office since 2003. I was told this cop doesn’t even have a gun. They have two full time detectives who are retired and only do the work they are assigned, that has to be very little. I hope Hunter sees the writing on the wall and makes some changes. I was just told last week that they have two permanently assigned marine patrol officers. Come on, they have not done anything worth talking about except waist marine fuel. Please put these cops on the street where they can do there job and hold them accountable.

The police are here to help and serve the community not just sit behind a computer screen or a desk and collect an outrageous pay check. And as for the officers that lost there jobs they will go through the process and eventually be paid off or will be back to work.

The department had no leadership. Lets hope Hunter brings in his boys from Collier and gets rid of the Capt. and admin LT., who just work inside the station and do no police work. I wonder how long it will take for Hunter to realize that the Capt. is a nasty person and does nothing for the department or the community. These two will just make up things for the citizen academy which is just a dog and pony show. This guy makes 100k a year and the two most important things he has done is organize the intoxicated Chief a farewell party and organize Hunter a welcoming party. The old chief retired my (bottom). He was told by the manager to leave or be fired. The manager told him to take a vacation and think it over. Instead of the news headlines reading Marco police chief fired for drunk during shooting Investigation, Carr put in his papers. Ed will be reinstated along with Derrick and for Tig Thompson being demoted because the pizza guy complained. Not good, Tig was demoted because The Capt. and Lt. told him it was okay to make an arrest. These two just used Tig and denied saying it later to protect them. Tig should hire an attorney or complain to equal opportunity for hostile work environment. I hope Hunter looks at the whole picture and comes to a conclusion that the Capt. and Admin LT. must go!
