Politicians must not be able to skim enough money off for themselves.
In a previous life the city I lived in would notify you once (maybe twice) if you where in violation of any local and/or state laws. You were given a specific time frame to remedy the situation. If not done they would come in take care of it themselves and put the costs on your tax bill. If the taxes didn't get paid you stood a very good chance of lossing your property at a sheriff's auction. I recently purchased property like that where all I had to do was pay the back taxes. The property owner had 1 year to compensate me (plus 10%) and could get it back. Otherwise the deed is signed over. Maybe Marco could take that approach.
Another bunch of uninformed voting idiots.
in response to Hascle: The question is the motor voter rule. It allows persons applying for a drivers licience to register to vote without proper documentation. If they answer the question yes, they are registered to vote. You,as I suspected are a dumb sh-t

If that is the wording of the Florida law then it needs to be changed immediately. 10 years ago when I moved from Ohio to Tennessee I had to provide a ridiculous amount of documentation to prove that I lived in TN and also provide a copy of my birth certificate in order to get a drivers license and register to vote.
I have to agree with Klaus on this one. We are a land of laws. I believe it clearly states that you MUST be an American citizen to register and vote in this country.
You know, I don't care who you are, wild animals have NO place in an area where homes and people are. People talk all of the time how gentle their pit bull is right after it rips the face of of some little kid.
in response to KlausStoertebeker: It is amazing how many sex related crimes happen in south-west Florida. Most of the offenders have foreign names. The American immigration system stinks.

It's not just SW Florida. Not only does the immigration system stink but the legal system is right there with it. This POS should have never walked away from the courthouse.
in response to 1Paradiselost: Fact! Currently the program is solvent until 2033. Some of you have been sold a pack of lies by the right wing tea party. If you think there's a problem, It's simple.... Change the Social Security max cap from $106,800 to $250,000, DUH! Then the problem is solved... FOREVER! Below is the current math. http://www.ssa.gov/oact/trsum/index.html

I personally feel that the cap should be completely removed. Build for the future for when those employed become scarce.
If it's one thing we don't need is more gun control laws. I adhere to only ONE gun control law and that is to hit what I aim at. If you fire your weapon you don't shoot to wound, you shoot to kill.
Shame she didn't have a gun and blow his bottom away.
Another example of an out-of-control governmental department.
Just another example of the government taking my money and giving it to others. This is essentially private property and should not be 'fixed' with taxpayer money. You buy property on the beach, you take the risks that come with it.
I agree with marco826. Practicing medicine??? Where did that come from?
I thought slowing and proceeding with caution was required at intersections.
I agree with the landlords and renters. We have been comming to Marco for many years with friends and family. We would normally rent 2-3 units for a 1 or 2 week period in Tower 4. Due to the shrinking beach, long walk to get to the gulf and the 'stagnant' lagoon water we will not return to the South Seas. I remember when the condos were beach front and even when the hurricane completely removed the sand up to the sea wall in front of 3 and 4. The restoration done by the 'tree huggers' over the years has ruined a beautiful beach.
As long as the fences remain and the general public does not have access, NO public funds, whether federal/state/local, should be used. If it is, a lawsuit should be filed to recover all monies used plus cost of recovery.
These people really need to get a life.
Why are they different than the Mexicans coming here. Illegal is illegal.
Went for dinner. 5 adults, 2 children. Prices were high, quality was average. Biggest problem was the 2 grandkids wanted to split an adult meal (cost more than 2 kids meals). When the check came they had added a $5.00 fee for the extra plate. Needless to say, I'll never darken their door again.
