This "project" should of been put to a vote way before it was even started. A ten million dollar real estate purchase with the promise of a "beautiful park" was put to a referendum.A 135 million dollar project gets approved by City Council.I say put it to a vote once and for all.Either way it goes,LET THE PEOPLE VOTE!!
I agree. We do not need a Marco Island High School when we already have a Marco Island Marriot,Marco Island Hilton,Marco Island Beach Resort,Marco Island Vacation Properties and a Marco Island Rental Properties. After all we do not want to become redundant!!
Will the real malcontents please stand up! You guys are hysterical. My group, your group 123!!
Would anyone like to join me for a wine and cheese party?
Well said John. I only wish courtesy and the preseumption of innocence can be given to Mr.Kiester and Mr.Forcht who are sitting Marco Island City Council members.Let all the facts come out before being convicted of a crime. The same people who are defending Mr.Arceri and Mr.Kelber are condemning two very well respected community leaders.I feel for Arceri and Kelber just the same. It is a terrible thing to be tried and convicted in the eyes of many.Sit back, reflect for a moment.
This presentation is from the March 5,2007 City Council meeting regarding the Sunshine Law. I was not going to post it but after reading todays article in the paper I thought it would be a good idea to show it.

With all due respect Arceri and Kelber are not on our City Council,Kiester and Forcht are. You resent CARES,POP,etc. but in your own eyes are you not doing the same? I personally have never attacked any City Council member and shall never.Step back, take a moment to reflect.
Let us all be reasonable, please. If an investigation is to take place it will not be limited to two City Council members.Mr.Kiester and Mr. Forcht were speaking openly and honestly at the open discussion forum.I think we all should respect that regardless of what direction you think the city should be going. I was not going to post the video but since this has become a topic thanks to the Marco Eagle I think it is only fair to show the discussion unedited from start to finish.
Mr.Kiester is a man of integrity.Deletion of some emails is not going to change that. The reason why the city attorney made the presentation in the first place was to clear up the confusion about the Sunshine law.It was an open forum and Mr. Kiester spoke with sincerity. Lets all focus on the real issues. It is very transparent what is happening here.
This was discussed at the City Council meeting on March 5th. Councilor Kiester was favorable in having The Sierra Club make a presentation to City Council. You can catch the entire discussion here.

I think Farmer should be sent to the corn field.
“He said that issues concerning a storm water drain system to be built down Saturn Court and out an outfall was a reason for the delay. The neighbors on Saturn Court didn’t like that idea and literally delayed the project over 60 days”...
Here we go again.Lets blame the residents for the delays. After all if it were not for us residents there would be no malcontents. We would be one big happy family.Call it how it is and please stop spinning Mr.Joel. All residents are suffering from the big dig that has taken place down here. From the Veterans Community Park property owners to the STRP areas to the Saturn Court drainage project area we have all payed our dues. Broken Water pipes, contaminated water, boil water notices,do not drink the water notices, three to four feet of water in our driveways and over our property lines on a daily basis for weeks on end, disrespectful workers whom you could not even communicate with because they did not speak english. No communication what so ever between the residents and the City. The contractor showed up one day digging up our street without even a courtesy notice from the city to let us know what was happening. So please Mr.Joel, the spin stops here.
"During the first public comment period, some angry, contentious, repetitive malcontents stood up to lecture and hector the council on its shortcomings. Some speakers were mean-spirited, condescending and aggressive. Some didn't seem to know that microphones obviate the need to yell."
Here is the video of the "public Comment" period.Let the unbiased viewer be the judge.
