This was a great event.
They had 20 people on that boat? Really makes you question the intelligence of people.
Shadow I see you completely missed my point but oh well I was trying to take up for you. I do not know many people who only work a few days a week so you must be lucky. I was trying to let the snowbirds to give the locals who work hard throughout the season a break at the end of season. But after reading your post I can tell you are one of those rude local workers who make that ride to shop so satisfying.
I really think you need to get a tougher skin. Everyone knows that the economy of Marco relies on the Snowbirds. It is the end of a long season, with many different types of people visiting our island. The workers on the island are tired. They have had to put up with people hollering at them, being rude to them etc. I think you should cut them a little slack. It has always been said that you should walk in someone’s shoes before you criticize. You come down to enjoy yourself. Give the workers the summer to enjoy themselves and next year you will be met with smiling faces.
And on another note how come people are eager to write a letter about bad service. I bet you have had good service and you did not rush home to write a letter now did you.
Wow RayPray you seriously have some major problems. Not one person can defeat anyone or anything it is the sum of the total that make our military organizations the best in the world. And having served in the military I hope you have the guts to speak like this in front of me or any other veteran. But you know what we as veterans will just turn our back realizing that we serve to give you the freedom to make this type of statement, no matter how crazy it is. Just funny how we fight for you to have freedom of speech but at every corner people like you are trying to take our freedoms away. Stay classy man. And remember there are a bunch of veterans on the island.
Thanks for the story and pictures Roger. The new Lowe's will be a great addition to our area. I can not wait for it to open.
Get well Rob.

Speaking of swale parking, I notice during events that condo associations will rope off areas and put condo people out on the swale to stop people from parking in the swale. Is this within their rights? You state that owner’s property stops at the sidewalk.
These comments really bother me. The city and Bryan Milk are trying their best to provide services for everyone. There are discussions going on presently on how to add more athletic fields for children. It is not as if this was a choice between dogs and children. From what I understand this location was picked because it provided the least amount of interference with athletic fields. As a city we need to provide services to all citizens. The dog part as designed will not require a great deal of money to get up and running. This was a low cost Island improvement. I have a great deal of confidence in the Island’s Park and Recreation Department’s ability to identify and develop suitable areas for athletic fields. I just wish that every once and a while someone could give our city official a pat on the back instead of complaining. They cannot satisfy everyone all the time. But I can tell you they are working hard to satisfy everyone and listening to what people are asking for. Some things are just easier to get done in a hurry. After all what is this an acre of land. I really do not thing it would be any good as an athletic field. However designating it as a Dog Park does make some citizens of our Island feel like the city is listening to them. Please remember we are an island of individuals with different needs.
I only knew Greg for a short time. He was one of the nicest people I have ever been around. He always took the time to say hello and spend some time chatting with you. He will definitely be missed.
Being from eastern North Carolina I have eaten many a meal at Wilber’s Barbecue. I really miss the eastern North Carolina barbecue. I always make time for a sampling when I am home.
Larry was a great man. I am pleased to have met him and also to have worked with him on a few fundraisers
Great news. I have missed having Krispy Kreme on the island.
Another Great Article Tom! Always enjoy your writing.
Father Pat will be missed on this Island. He is a great ambassador for the Catholic Church as well as a great resident of Marco Island. Father Pat gives us all something to strive for. His positive impact on this Island will be missed. However, I can say the people of Ft. Myers will be getting a great priest.
This is a great article. Bimini’s is a great.
If you click on the picture there are more details. However, I guess it is just easier for you to complain about something. Complaining is just Standard Operating Procedure for you. You just complain as a normal reaction.
Hey Ed,
Was that your big screen TV that was left in the vacant lot on the corner of S. Heathwood Dr. and Auburndale? You guys really are childish. I would love to see you dump your trash on the steps of City Hall. Please let me know when you do this. I would like to be there. I am sure you have already called the news media to let them know your plans.
Jim was a pleasure to be around. I consider myself lucky to have met him.
Rest In Peace Jim.
I hope they keep a copy of the sewer assessment letter. It will be embarrassing going to the city for another one.
Paul I think it is asinine of you to accuse the NDN of censorship. If anything your side is given free rain to say what you want. I mean last night on one of the stories people were writing in that the reason the meeting was canceled was because members of the City Council were drinking. Most of the accusations and statements made by your side should be censored in my option. I think you should thank the NDN for giving you this forum to spew your thoughts. This seems to be the only place your side can clam victory.
Have they checked Ed Foster’s garage?
All women in the picture. It makes you wonder who wears the pants in each Cares Member family.
Now that’s an Adult way to protest.
Ed the Island has really changed since Sep 2000. The number of lawsuits has gone up tremendously since your arrival. I can see the sense of community spirit on the rise since you listed your house. Just a little advice: If you are moving to the Mountains of NC, you should be very careful how you stir up trouble. They have there on way of dealing with troublesome people. And one expression they love up there: That is not the way we do it where I come from. This expression will make you a number of friends.
Great Article Don!!!
Why so hostile ecoterror? It was a very nice story about three young people. I think it is nice to have feel good stories. I think a simple congratulations would be in order. You are just like most of the other people here who have absolutely no ability to see the good in something.
Hey Doug so you actually admit that you are putting out misinformation! Please reread you second response.
Congratulations Mac. I have great confidence in you.
Ed Foster that is!!!!
bbyron46. I would consider it an honor to have a beer with Joey Nuts, Ed Issler, MarcoFacts, and vashark1. I am sure it would be much more intellectual than sitting around with you and ed.
I would like to know what kind of precautions Ed took when he removed pieces of asbestos cement pipe from the site and stored it at his house.
This is a very poor way of supporting your opinion. How do you know that these people even have the same beliefs as the people you are really trying to hurt. Now since you have called out business you are trying to hurt, it is time for you to MAN-UP and let us know the name of your business. It is only fair.
IslandResident1 - There are some people who look for the worst in people first. They do not take the time to understand the full meaning of the statement. I read it as a complement to the Newcomers Club. I guess it is easier to be miserable than to try to be happy.
Very good post Lisa. Thanks for your input.

Ray - Your reading comprehension is very bad. Eagleeye clearly stated that he thought Ed had every right to express his thoughts. You do not have to come back with a negative tone about everything. Take a deep breath read the post once again and let’s start over.
bbyrone46 - If you drive with the same attitude you post with, I am sure I will get a chance to help you out one day.
I do not know how you get that from my post. However, I do not understand how you get most things that you post. I have and will continue to stop and help anyone in need. I usually put my self out to help other people.
Jaguar, Life is what you make of it. If you choose to see only bad things that is all you will see. I on the other hand choose to look at life in a different way.
JW who are you to determine who is immoral or not? My question was what does he have to do with this story? Once again your post does not add any insight to the article or discussion.
Why are we rehashing Dick Shanahan again this week? Was this not a story last week? What does this have to do with the appeal?
Classy post jw. You seem to be stuck on juvenile comments.
barfieldfly,
I am just going to leave this alone. Your post really proves who is pathetic. There is no use debating with you. You have to have the last word. However, I have not read an intelligent post from you.
I am not a kick around person for anyone. You see I post for myself. I believe that what is happening on Marco is for the best.
If the truth be told I think you are the kick around person for your group. You are just here to try and wreak havoc by insulting posters from the other side. However, I you group could have picked someone with a little higher I.Q. Our you could just be the best of the gene pool.
F.Y.I.: I am a lifelong Republican and I am a U.S. Army Veteran. So please take the political statements out of your repartee.
Van you say everyone has the right to voice their opinion. However your good friend barfieldfly has threatened bodily harm on GorgonZola for speaking their mind. I guess free speech is only reserved for people who have your beliefs. I think it is very insulting to compare GorgonZola to al-Qaeda (Yes barfieldfly this is the correct way to spell this word). The tone of barfieldfly's reply makes me think he was drunk. However, his reply was posted at 4:19pm. I guess he just forgot to take his medication for the day. Once again barfieldfly, this is not a blog. I believe I have given you the definition of a blog. I guess we can add this to the long list of information you choose not to read.
O.K. naplesregular. I guess the Naples Daily should send every edition to you for your approval before it is printed. I can not believe they printed something that does not have your stamp of approval. I guess I need to come up with my list of writers I do not want to see printed. Oh wait - I do not have to do that. I just save time and skip over articles I do not find to my liking. I personally find the Farmer File to my liking.
First - The Marco Police do put their lives on the line for us every day, contrary to your delusional view. I know it is hard for you to understand, because you are not here when we go through Hurricanes. The police have to stay here to make sure everything is O.K. during a hurricane. They also have to deal with a great deal of domestic disputes. You never know what can happen in a situation like that. I was not going to get personal over this, but you have to be one of the most ignorant people alive if you do not believe that our police put their lives on the line every day. But this just proves my point about the fantasy world you live in.
Now let’s talk about the Keyston Cops. I am not sure what the keystone cop soundtrack is. I can only assume it is what you model your life after. However, I have not been able to decipher very much of what you people have to say. I can see your lips moving, but nothing intelligent is coming out. Your strategy is to belittle anyone who does not have your twisted belief.
Thank you very much for giving me the definition of keystone cops. I have been trying to come up with a description of you group. This fits it great – A group of bumbling rag-tag non-professional running around. Thanks for clearing this up for us.
That was a classy post valnmario. I am glad you have such high regards for the Marco Police Department. These officers put their life on the line every day to serve this Island. I guess you just felt like you needed to increase your post count. That is the only explanation I can see for such an insignificant post.
barfieldfly I will leave this immature discussion to you. If the good doctor is a real doctor, I think that she should not be coming on a message board trying to demean another person. I believe there are ethics that Doctors must abide too. That being said, I am tired of being dragged into you elementary discussions. When you have something adult to say I will be back.
I am just curious Dr. Lowus. Did you get your degree from a cereal box? You are a class guy pretending to be a Doctor. I am sure the guys that actually went to medical school appreciate that.
