Written on Spray Park opening is a splash:

Great Job Dana!
Its great to see in a time when all we hear about is Sewers, Bridges and Roads, something as small as a a Tot Spray Park can bring so much Joy to our children.
One thing we must always keep in mind is that no matter how hard times seem, nothing replaces Recreation. PRICELESS!

Written on Tax or toll? Both options under consideration to pay for new Jolley bridge:

Thank You! This is a PUBLIC BRIDGE that all use and should be paid by ALL! The bottom line is that this bridge should be paid by the State of Florida but the MPO and Marco leaders dont want to wait until they are dead for the state to do that. Why should ONLY the people of Marco pay for a bridge that EVERYONE uses.

Written on Lely loses in first round of district volleyball tourney:

THE KEY TO LELY'S FUTURE SUCCESS IN VOLLEYBALL IS THE SAME AS IT IS IN ALL THEIR SPORTS....WHETHER OR NOT THEY CAN RECRUIT AND RETAIN THE BEST AND MOST QUALIFIED COACHES. COACHES THAT NOT ONLY WORK DURING THEIR OWN SEASON, BUT THOSE THAT EMBRACE THE YOUTH PROGRAMS AND DEVELOP THEIR RESPECTIVE PROGRAMS FROM WITHIN. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS SEVERELY LACKING AS MANY OF THEIR COACHES ARE "PART TIMERS" WHEN MOSTLY ALL OF COLLIER COUNTY COACHES TAKE THIER JOBS SERIOUSLY AND TREAT IT AS A "FULL TIME" JOB.

Written on Marco plan to pay for fire services unveiled Monday night:

NO MORE ASSESSMENTS....NO MORE TAXES...NO MORE NOTHING!!!!
UNLESS THE ASSESMENT EQUATES TO AN EQUAL TAX REDUCTION DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR WE DONT WANT IT!
IT IS GETTING RIDICULOUS HERE ON MARCO AND SOON NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO LIVE HERE.
ALL THAT WILL HAPPEN HERE IS THEY WILL ASSESS YOU AND USE THE 3.8 MILL SAVINGS ON MORE "IMPROVEMENTS".
THIS IS ANOTHER WAY OF CIRCUMVENTING THE CAP. WHY CANT WE FIGURE OUT WAYS TO LOWER TAXES FURTHER AND STOP SPENDING!

Written on School district pondering Tract K again:

THIS LAND WAS GIVEN BY DELTONA TO THE SCHOOL BOARD FOR $1 AND WAS STIPULATED TO BE USED "FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHILDREN OF MARCO ISLAND". UNDERLINE "CHILDREN"....NOT ADULTS OF MARCO ISLAND, NOT CHILDREN OR ADULTS OF COLLIER COUNTY.
THIS LAND SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHILDREN OF MARCO ISLAND. THIS CAN ONLY BE USED AS LAND WHERE CHILDREN EITHER ATTEND SCHOOL OR RECREATE.
THE FIELDS CANNOT BE USED FOR ADULTS AND THE LAND CANNOT BE USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE. COLLIER COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE ITS USE NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO WITH THE LAND.

Written on City takes action to reduce STRP assessments:

Why is it that whenever politicians need cash they TAX!!!! Kiesters idea of taxing 2% on sewer and water is ridiculous! We pay far too much for sewer and water and more are on the way. Whatever happened to the statement that we would not raise water rates for a few years.....NOT!
Im sick of the $200+ water bills. This is a disaster! We need to find ways to REDUCE our water bills that are among the highest in the country!
SAVE OUR HOMES!!!!
