Do condo associations and board members have the right to increase a security deposit required by a tenant currently occupying the unit? Also...I thought owners had the right to vote, or should I say the chance to get to the meeting to vote. Do we not have the right to an opinion in condo rule changes. Our board does not give us ( out of state owners) enough advance notice so that we are able to get to a meeting to vote. The last meeting I got the notice the day before the meeting. It seems financially we ( owners that reside out of state) are getting discriminated upon. Most of us would not have the units rented if it weren't not only for this market but due to their constantly increasing and adding fees. I would think there would be some regulation on how much they can raise your fees. when we bought our association fee was around $430.00 I would have to look it up to be exact now it is in the neighborhood of $800.00 and this is since 2005 is this legal? Should we not be getting a report on where this money is spent? I have nothing
